Year 6 Weekly Highlights 17.10.25
It’s been another busy and inspiring week in Year 6!
We were delighted to welcome a visitor from the charity Emmaus, who shared his powerful story about overcoming adversity. The children listened with great empathy as he spoke about how the support he is receiving from Emmaus is helping him rebuild his life.
In English, we have completed our unit on Erika’s Story. This has been a deeply engaging text, and the children have shown real maturity and insight in their responses. They have worked hard to develop their narrative writing skills, using dialogue not only to move the story forward but also to reveal more about the characters’ thoughts and feelings.
In Maths, we have been exploring prime numbers, square numbers, multiples, and factors. The children have shown great perseverance tackling these challenging concepts. To keep their confidence growing, please encourage regular practice of times tables and division facts at home—these really are the building blocks for success in Year 6 maths.
