Year 4 Weekly Highlights 16.1.26
Well what a week we have had! We have to start with our Saxon Day where we hosted Herigeas Hondus, an expert group of Saxon enthusiasts. We were immersed into Saxon poetry and musical instruments. We had an insight into their medicine and beliefs and the morning finished with a detailed weapons display where children learnt about Saxon weapons and which were best for different situations. In the afternoon, we made our own shields so we could be trained in defending our village with a shield wall. The most exciting part was the combat display performed by the professionals. What a great day and both children and adults thoroughly enjoyed it. It really has hooked the children into knowing about the Saxons and Beowulf!
