Year 4 Weekly Highlights 23.1.26
Happy Friday to all of our year 4 families.
This week we have shared our class performances of our Autumn 2 dance - please do have a look on Google classroom. We were really proud of what the children achieved in a short period of time.
This week's PE was totally different - circuit training! The children were brilliant at really pushing themselves to complete each exercise with the correct technique and to the best of their ability.
Talking of pushing themselves - what an amazing TTRS tournament we are having! Sycamore seem to be well out in front at the moment, which Mrs Spence is delighted about, but we know that Birch and Prunus can catch up if everyone has a big last push! What has been brilliant is to see the improvement in their soundcheck scores and heat maps. This will make a massive difference in supporting the children's maths work this year and in the future.
We have begun our play scripts of Beowulf in English, which is very exciting. Classes have each delved deeper into their part of the story and will now each write different sections of script, which will be woven together by the teachers into our final performance scripts over the next couple of weeks. We have already seen some fabulous language choices and can't wait to showcase them in our performance!
In reading we are continuing to enjoy the Winter of the Wolves, which is not only an exciting story but also links brilliantly with our history topic of the Anglo Saxons and our project ‘is there two sides to every story’.
Have a brilliant weekend,
The year 4 team
