Year 3 Weekly Highlights 9.5.25
All of this week, Year 3 have been busy learning about fronted adverbials and applying it to their sentence writing ahead of writing their final setting description inspired by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. We have been really impressed with the independence of Year 3 and their use of descriptive vocabulary.
In Maths, we have embarked on our new unit, money. We have worked practically with coins and notes to explore the most efficient ways to make values and represent this through our part whole models. Next week, we will focus on adding and subtracting money.
In Reading, we have continued our book, Wildsmith. This week, we have practised our summarising, inference and skimming and scanning skills as well as using ideas from the text to write our own answer to a question. We have started to consider whether or not our main character, Rowan, could really be a Wildsmith. We can’t wait to find out if she is a Wildsmith or not!
In History, we have explored who the Romans were and how quickly they invaded other countries. This was supported by our prior understanding of chronology.
We hope you all have a great weekend!
