Year 4 Weekly Highlights 9.5.25
Despite being a shorter week, Year 4 has packed so much learning, laughter, kindness and hard work into just four days! We have delved deeper into our project, while exploring our concepts of change, adventure, wonder and journey with an exploration of the North American continent. Next week, we will focus on Canada and compare this beautiful country with the UK. In reading, the children were fascinated by Yusra's story, her courage and achievements. We enjoyed discovering facts about Syria and watching a short clip on this country. After practising our skills for using similes, alliteration, dialogue and precise vocabulary, the children wrote a section of the story of a girl with a crayon that she uses to go on an amazing adventure with a purple phoenix. It has been an absolute delight watching the children develop their writing skills and the summer term is when we really do start to see their hard work come to fruition with some fabulous writing. In maths, we are into our second week on time with the beginning of the week progressing to the 24 hour clock after the 12 hour, digital and analogue clocks. We are ending the week on converting units of time, with of course the use of the 6 times table to help us. We continue to work hard on learning and practising our tables and appreciate everyone's support helping the children to be confident with their tables.
Enjoy a very sunny weekend with lots of times tables and reading.
