Year 4 Weekly Highlights 16.5.25
Time is flying by and there is only one more week left before our Whitsun half term! The Y4 national times tables check is just round the corner. Solid times table knowledge is fundamental to success in so many areas of maths and we want our children to feel confident as they transition up to Upper School / Y5 in September.
With this in mind, we have introduced an inter-class TTRS competition which starts this Friday 16th at 3:30pm and lasts for 2 weeks, across half term. The competition is for children to aim to do as many times tables sessions as they can manage - the winning class will receive extra playtime! So the heat is on!
*We have set it up with a maximum limit of 60 mins a day, never before 7am and never after 8pm in recognition of the importance of sleep and rest.
We have started our new Geography topic focusing on Canada and people's movement through place and we are learning lots currently about pilgrimage in RE. In Computing the children have begun to learn to edit photos using paint.net.
Spelling quizzes next week will take place on Thursday 22nd because there is an INSET day on Friday 23rd. Have a good week everyone!
