Year 3 Weekly Highlights 13.6.25

As the saying goes ‘time flies when you are having fun!’ and this week truly has flown by as we have delved deeper into our new project!

We started the week by exploring the moment Lucy first discovered the wardrobe and stepped inside, from our key text - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. We focused on our use of specific verb choices, senses and use of ing words as sentence starters to describe the scene and have ended the week with thoughtful and carefully crafted descriptions!

On Monday, we enjoyed listening and watching all the poetry performances on Monday - a huge well done to Year 3!

Meanwhile, we have developed our prediction, summarising and reading fluency skills through our reading text. We used our writing skills to write a diary entry as Tomas, our main character, to share how he got a dragon as a pet.

In computing, we started our learning on stop frame animation. This week, we made our own flip book animations and explored different animations shown on TV - Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep.

A particular highlight from the week was meeting with our Year 5 buddies. As our first session, we used the time to get to know each other and look forward to meeting with them again soon!

We wish everyone a lovely weekend in the sunshine!
