Year 3 Weekly Highlights 27.6.25
We can’t believe that this week marks halfway through our new project!
In English, Year 3 have worked on creating their own descriptions to accompany the Narnia film and described Mr Tumnus. Thank you to all of you who joined us in our English lesson on Thursday to describe the setting from Narnia.
In reading this week, we have continued our text, The Boy Who Grew Dragons. We have practised our inferring and summarising skills. We have expanded our understanding of dragons and where they come from in the text - dragon fruits! We have read a non-fiction page about dragon fruits and practised our fact and opinion retrieval skills as well as our retrieving and recording skills.
In computing, we have started to plan our own animations inspired from our reading book. Year 3 have worked in small groups to write their storyboard ready for their final outcome.
In science, we have continued our learning on Light. This week, we used sunglasses and suncream to help us investigate why they’re important in the protection against UV light. We used light-sensitive paper as part of this investigation. We have also created our own pictorial flashcards to help us understand the terms: reflective, transparent, translucent and opaque.
We wish everyone a great weekend!
The Year 3 Team.
