Year 3 Weekly Highlights 11.7.25

This week has seen another successful transition morning for Year 3 as they begin to think about their next chapter in Year 4!

In Maths, we have also embarked on our last unit of statistics, where we are exploring pictograms, interpreting graphs and representing data.

In English, we were captivated by the next scene from Narnia when the siblings were all at the White Witch’s ice palace. We have described the White Witch’s palace by using our imagination and creativity skills.

In reading, we have started to bring our book to a close. We have practised our summarising, prediction and reading fluency skills. We are looking forward to finding out next week how our book finishes off!

In computing, we have used our storyboards to create our own animation inspired by our reading book, The Boy Who Grew Dragons. Year 3 worked in small groups using iPads and playdough to create their animation.

We hope you safely receive your child’s report today. There will be an informal opportunity to pop in and see your child’s learning from this year in their classrooms after school on Monday 14th July from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. If you are unable to find your child's report in your emails, please check your junk and look for our assessment website 'Insight' to access the report.

As the summer holidays creep closer, please could we ask that all library books are returned as soon as possible. Please can we also ask that all children bring in a bag on Thursday 17th July to bring any finished books home. Your child’s current books will move with them into Year 4 and will come home once they are complete so we don’t waste any paper!

We wish everyone a lovely weekend in the sunshine!

The Year 3 Team.
