Year 4 Weekly Highlights 18.7.25

It is with pride and a tinge of sadness that we write our final Year 4 Highlights with this wonderful, kind, funny, hardworking and aspiring cohort of children.  Today was a strong reminder that the end is near as the Year 4 team treated the children to an ice cream/lolly, with sprinkles and a heavy dose of chocolate sauce to thank them for their hard work and for being so amazing.  We also enjoyed chatting to so many of you after school on Monday while reviewing some of the children's fabulous work.  As we draw the curriculum to a close, the children have the opportunity to write a letter from the viewpoint of Emmanuel Ofosu Yeboah who with one leg cycled 400 miles across Ghana raising the awareness of disabled people.  His message of 'disable not unable' through the story of Emmanuel's dream was both inspiring and passionate.  What a strong character he is.  In maths the children have been using money to answer word problems, compare and calculate with the four methods.  Art this week is also a heavy focus, with the children completing their top copy image of the lifeboats as they make a desperate bid to find land in the moonlight across the icy, choppy waters around Antarctica.  A big well done to Prunus class also this week for their fantastic Listen to Me concert. We hoped you enjoyed it!

Please have a wonderful, relaxing and safe summer break.  As always we thank you for your support and ask that you continue to support the children with their reading and keeping their tables knowledge sharp.  We have popped some optional Summer Maths activities into the Y4 google classroom if you would like to continue to enjoy maths over the summer break.
