Year 4 Weekly Highlights 9.1.26
Year 4 have returned from their Christmas break full of energy and excitement for their new project; "Are there two sides to every story?" The project has some wonderful links to the Anglo-Saxons in history, Beowulf in English, Winter of the Wolves text in Reading, and dragons in Art. Enthused by tales of the monster from the marshes the children have begun collecting descriptive vocabulary and making inferences with evidence about Grendel. In art with the help of directions, the children drew a brilliant dragon's head and are looking forward to making their own clay dragon to use in their own stop motion magic. In maths, the children are continuing with multiplication and division and have started the week with multiplying by 10 and 100 before ending the week with dividing by 10 and 100. There has been an amazing start to the class Times Table Rock Star challenge and we are looking forward to seeing who will get that extra break! Times Table homework resumes this week and will be sent home on Friday, this should be returned completed by next Friday. House points are awarded for Reading Records completed and handed in on Thursday and Spelling tests begin again this Friday. Again, Thank you for your support with these homeworks.
We wish you all a fabulous 2026. Year 4 Team
