Year 4 Weekly Highlights 27.2.26
What a fantastic week we’ve had in Year 4!
This week, the children have been busy writing persuasive pieces in the role of a dragon. They used powerful vocabulary and emotive language to convince their audience to see things from a dragon’s point of view! We were so impressed with their creativity and the way they brought their fiery characters to life.
In Maths, we have been learning about fractions. The children have explored equivalent fractions and have been developing their understanding using visual models and practical resources. They have shown great perseverance when tackling some tricky fraction challenges!
Our Science topic has been sound. We investigated how sound is made, how it travels, and how vibrations create the noises we hear. The children enjoyed carrying out practical investigations to explore pitch and volume.
Linking beautifully with our English work, the children have created their own clay dragons. They carefully shaped and sculpted their designs before painting them in vibrant colours. Next week, we will be creating backgrounds to build our very own dragon scenes – we can’t wait to see the finished pieces!
We are very excited about our upcoming school trip to Butser Ancient Farm on MONDAY. This will be a fantastic opportunity for the children to experience hands-on history and bring their learning to life.
It is also World Book Day next week and we are looking forward to seeing the children dressed up as their favourite book characters. It’s always such a wonderful celebration of reading across the school!
Thank you for your continued support. We are so proud of all the hard work Year 4 have shown this week!
