Year 3 Weekly Highlights 17.3.23
This week, year 3 have been exploring mass - we have been comparing masses using the vocabulary - lighter and heavier and also the symbols < > = We have had to preserver with this as it was tricky to understand that the heavier item was always the one at the bottom of a scale.
In English, we have been wowed by the children's work of diary of a killer cat. We have attached some examples of children who showed their work to Mrs Hartley and Miss Loosemore. We have been thinking about how we can use apostrophes for contractions as well as past tense in preparation for next week when we will write as either a hamster or budgie!
In Geography, we have explored chocolate production in time for some tasting next week. In Science, we have conducted an experiment to understand how we can speed up or slow down the melting process. The children had some great questions which expanded our learning: "What if we put it here?" "Let's wrap it in foil!". In DT we have practised threading a needle and a running stitch ready to make our tool belts.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
