Year 3 Weekly Highlights 01.12.23
On Monday, we launched our theme of kindness as part of Anti-Bullying Week, with our school councillors leading our assembly. In classes, we spent the day in our odd socks, celebrating all our differences and unique talents and discussing the role of everyone in having a voice and standing up for what is right.
This week in Maths, we have been continuing our Multiplication and Division unit, with a focus on our 3 times tables. As a result, all children now have the 3 times tables unlocked on TTRS. Please also watch this space as we begin to set up Year 3 times table competitions!
We have made a great start on our new text - 'How to wash a woolly mammoth'. We have explored the features of instructions, sequential conjunctions, pronouns and imperative verbs in preparation for our own set of instructions next week!
Next week, we are looking forward to starting our new Christmas reading unit, making our Stone Age clay pots, making our first trip to the school library and beginning our Christmas celebrations!
We also had some naughty elves arrive in Year 3 today; Noel and Noelle. Watch out for all the mischief they get up to this festive season!
We wish everyone a restful weekend,
The Year 3 Team
