Year 3 Weekly Highlights 15.3.24
Year 3 have continued to wow us this week with their enthusiasm and creativity across the curriculum! In reading, we have all struggled to put down our key text at the end of each chapter! We have been developing our summary and inference skills by using evidence from the text to explain Tomas’ actions and feelings.
Meanwhile, in Maths we have been working hard to crack bar models, using the denominators in our fractions to create equal groups. Year 3 then rose to the challenge when we linked this to number lines and have independently created their own, using our class models.
In Science, we all thoroughly enjoyed exploring the viscosity of liquids and questioning what other liquids we could test by comparing their different properties.
In Art, we recapped our colour mixing using paints, by creating our own primary and secondary colour wheels before moving on to create shades and tints of secondary colours. The year 3 team are looking forward to their final dragon creations and seeing their creativity come to life over the final few weeks of our topic!
In English, Year 3 have continued to showcase their creativity and determination to achieve their very best when writing in character as Tuffy to describe the setting and writing as Dad to recount key events.
