Year 3 Weekly Highlights 15.11.24
Our week began with a reflective start through our school remembrance service and our sea of poppies which we made in school. Thank you to those parents and carers who were able to join us to commemorate this day. Year 3 did us and themselves proud with how respectful they were during the service.
This week, we revealed our new reading book: The Iron Man by Ted Hughes. We have practised our reading fluency skills by reading chapter 1 and working out who The Iron Man is. Did you know that a copy of the first edition of The Iron Man which has a personalised message from the author to his son is currently up for sale at £22,500?! Ask your child what other facts they have learnt this week about The Iron Man!
As we come to the end of our addition and subtraction unit in Maths, we have been using estimating answers to the nearest 10 and 100, using the inverse to solve problems and recalling their number bonds to 100.
In Science, we used our enquiring and working together learning values to explore the properties of sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks.
Alder and Willow - please remember your library books on Monday!
Laurel - please remember your library books on Tuesday!
We wish everyone a lovely weekend,
Year 3 Team
