Year 3 Weekly Highlights 22.11.24
Year 3 were outstanding role models this week on our school trip to Stonehenge! Despite the cold and the snow, we had a fantastic time learning about the Neolithic people, how they moved Stonehenge, what type of stone Stonehenge is made from and even looking inside the homes that were made for the people who built Stonehenge.
In maths, we have started our multiplication and division unit. To do this, we have used counters to make arrays, equal groups and applied our times tables knowledge to learn about multiples of 2, 5 and 10.
In English, we have continued our writing on instructions based on the book, How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth. We have started to apply our understanding of sequential conjunctions, adverbs, imperative verbs and pronouns to write our own instruction sentences about washing our own Woolly Mammoth.
In Reading, we have started reading chapter 2 of The Iron Man. We have now met another character, Hogarth who has seen The Iron Man in the distance of the town he lives in. We are all eager to find out what happens next!
We wish you all a great weekend!
The Year 3 Team.
