Year 4 Weekly Highlights 9.9.22
I didn't sleep very well on Sunday night as I was so excited but also anxious for school the next day. Of course the storm did not help but I kept tossing and turning wondering if it would be okay. I had prepared my bag and my lunch but then kept thinking whether there was something I had forgotten. I was most worried if everyone would be nice to me and then I began to worry that I would be tired all day.
When I walked through the door, the room was bright, clean and all organised for the day and I felt reassured. I found my place and got my stuff out ready for the day. I still felt nervous but it began to feel good. I washed my hands, and helped to put the books and chairs out.
Suddenly there was a tap on the door and I looked round to see a group of faces with beaming smiles and I knew it would be a good day. I greeted the smiling faces and we began a day focused on how to work effectively together. The children were wonderful, they worked hard and were nice to me! I had survived the first day back and it was a lovely day. How lucky we are to have such a wonderful group of children joining us in Year 4. Already we have made a super start to place value in maths and introduced our writing unit on The BFG. What a marvellous start to the year!
