Year 4 Weekly Highlights 8.12.23
Dragons have continued to excite and inspire the children this week with the use of the book the Incomplete Book of Dragons. After the discovery of the dragon's egg, the children have investigated how dragons defend and attack their prey to enable the children to create and write about their own discovery of a new dragon species. Art has followed the dragon theme, with the children exploring images of dragons illustrated by Cressida Cowell. The children will create their own sketch of their dragon which they can then use in their display work from their English. In maths, the children are wrapping up addition and subtraction before they begin their new topic on length and perimeter. The children began their first lesson on digestion with a discussion around the Eatwell plate. They enjoyed sharing their knowledge of food groups and the importance of a balanced diet. With Christmas around the corner, the children have delighted in pulling two messages from their Christmas trees this week. The kindness and thoughtful messages have lifted the children and reminded us how these small gestures mean so much.
Finally, well done to 4P for your ukulele concert. You were amazing!
Have a great weekend,
The Year 4 team.
