Year 4 Weekly Highlights 2.5.25

What a lovely week it has been!

The children have been enjoying the sunshine at break times, even though it has been a bit hot at times!

In English we have been continuing our ‘Journey’ work, particularly focusing on similes, powerful verbs and speech punctuation. We will then apply these skills in our writing next week.

In maths we have been focusing on Time - telling the time to the nearest minute on analogue and digital clocks, am/pm and 24 hour clock. This is a hard topic so please do help your child to practise this skill at home.

Science has been exciting this week with lots of practical investigations- the children observed various effects that their saliva has on food (ask them about ‘the bread test’, ‘the cracker test’ and ‘the crisp test’) and made a model stomach to investigate how acid breaks down food.

Have a fabulous bank holiday weekend,

The year 4 team
