Year 4 Highlights 8.4.22.
What a week! Year 4 have really shone with their performing prowess. We started the week with our wonderful poets; Jasmine, Abbie and Eleanor, standing up and reciting their poem in front of the whole school! We were so proud of all the children that took part in the competition, and then to perform again whilst standing in front of 400 people is no mean feat. We hope the girls are rightfully proud of themselves too.
Our week has mainly been centred around one thing; Beowulf. What a show! West End, eat your heart out! All the children were phenomenal, from the narrators to the warriors, the royals to the technical crew, and not forgetting Beowulf and the monsters themselves! The collective gasp as Grendel's arm was ripped from its socket rippled across the hall, and the battle dance between Beowulf, the Sea Hag and the Warriors was simultaneously action-packed and elegant. The costumes, props and face paints all added to the dark and mysterious atmosphere and we are truly grateful to everyone who has played a part in making Beowulf happen. A huge thanks to the parents too for such a good turnout.
It feels like we have certainly earned the Easter Holidays. Year 4, don't forget to read the next chapters of Whale Boy over the holidays, and rest up - there is plenty more to come in the summer term!
