Year 6 Weekly Highlights 30.9.22
What an incredible week this has been!
We have recently created our descriptive recount of Diagon Alley, and then we created our own creature ready to use for writing later next week.
In reading we are starting to learn our new book called the viewer and in year 6 we also have been doing a lot of reading out loud to increase our fluency so our pronunciation, phrasing and intonation gets better.
This week in Maths we have been taught to add and subtract four-digit numbers in word problems. What we've achieved solving problem which needed a lot of thinking.
But we think the highlight of the week was definitely science because of our learning of shadows and how they are created. In science, we have learnt that light travels in straight lines and depending on where light is placed closer or further.
In art this monday we learnt about two famous artist (Pablo Picasso and Fernand Leger). Both of these artists use a method of cubism and in the end I think we are going to make a picture in style of the artists.
