Year 6 Weekly Highlights 26.01.24
This week we have enjoyed many different activities. Today, Year 6 had a visit from the author Alexandra Stewart, who wrote Everest ( our current reading text). Her presentation was inspiring. She told us about the incredible story of Edmund Hilary and tensing Norgay. She also told us about the dangers of climbing such a mountain as Everest. Year 6 were fascinated by the visit. We are now really looking forward to our VR headsets experience, which is happening later in the term.
Mr Cross, our wonderful head of sports, has been to 2 unique sporting events: a girls' football tournament -they reached the semi-finals; and a boys' football match - they won 6-1! All of our sports players should be very proud of themselves.
-Harry F, Harry M and Louis W
In other areas of the curriculum, we had a visit from the fire service informing the children of the dangers of fires and about the work the fire service are involved in.
Have a great weekend.
